Trayvon Martin’s death was the new beginning of a topic that continues to loom over the heads of America. Racism and being a young black man in this country are the topics of conversation. It’s been three years since neighborhood watchman, George Zimmeraman shot and killed the 17-year-old who was walking home from the store with a can of iced tea and a bag of Skittles. IFWT remebers Trayvon Martin three years later. Even more recently, the Department of Justice has decided to not file civil charges against Zimmerman, claiming there still wasn’t enough evidence. Martin’s mother, Sybrina Fulton speaks to the Associated Press on the DOJ’s decision. “It bothered me a great deal,” she began. She opens up about being hopeful that the government agency would have found something that could have served a form of justice. “The Department of Justice is the top of the line here, and that they would certainly, through their experts and professionals that something that the state missed that they would pick up on.” More down bottom.

It’s been a little over two years since the fatal death of teen, Trayvon Martin. Many of us, although didn’t know Martin’s family personally, experienced his loss all the same. Martin’s mother, Sybrina Fulton became the face of mothers who had lost a young black son in one of the worst ways. Even with the difficult process of losing a child on her shoulders, Fulton continues to show her support in other ways. Today, the death of Michael Brown has united individuals from all around the world to speak out about the brutality young black men endure from local police departments. Along with the rest of us, Sybrina Fulton feels the pain that Ferguson, Mo and Brown’s family feels. As the only minority on the jury, ‘Juror B29’ from the Trayvon Martin/ George Zimmerman trial finally broke her silence on her true feelings of the verdict. According to her, she claims NOW that ‘Zimmerman got away with murder.’ A little late to express these feelings now, eh? However, Trayvon’s devastated parents Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin responded back to the juror who had a part in letting their 17-year-old son’s killer free with no punishment.
