Find Out Who The Source Named Their Rookie & Man Of The Year!

The Source released their first digital issue yesterday, and it’s their annual Man Of The Year/Rookie Of The Year double cover. Fittingly, New Jersey Fetty Wap was awarded the honor of Rookie Of The Year, as his stellar success in 2015 was groundbreaking to say the least! As for Man Of The Year, Kendrick Lamar and Future share the honor as co-MVPs. Do you agree with all of The Source‘s pics? Check the covers in the gallery and let us know your thoughts!

Did You Know? THIS Famous Rapper Auditioned For The Role Of Tupac On Broadway!

It’s that time of year again for The Source’s annual ‘Power 30’ issue, and Tha Snowman takes the honors of gracing 1 of the 2 covers in promotion of his new album, Seen It All: The Autobiography. Though the issue hasn’t hit newsstands quite yet, excerpts from the interview are available online, and they include an interesting piece of information! “I came to New York, auditioned and everything,” Jeezy revealed to The Source about trying out for the role of Tupac in the now-shuttered Broadway musical, Holler If Ya Hear Me. “Snowman was going to be on Broadway, man.” That’s kind of crazy! Can you picture Jeezy on Broadway?! He didn’t reveal how far along he got in the audition process and whether he got the role and turned it down or just didn’t make the cut, but I guess it worked out in his favor either way…considering the play totally tanked. Holler If Ya Hear Me, based on Pac‘s music and poetry, opened on Broadway on June 19, and closed exactly one month later after just 17 previews and 38 performances.
