(Video) NBA: Russell Westbrook On If Durant Leaving For Warriors Made It Sting More, “Sting For Who”

Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder held a press conference yesterday to officially announce his contract extension that will keep him with the team through at least the end of the 2018 season. Fans couldn’t be more happier that they don’t have to stress about Westbrook possibly leaving after next season and they showed up in huge numbers yesterday to support their new, unquestioned leader. While Russ was all the talk around town, we knew there were going to be questions about Kevin Durant leaving and to his credit, Russ answered them all with no hesitation.

NBA: Report, Thunder Teammates Were Upset With KD’s Relationship With Warriors Players

Kevin Durant decided to take his talents to the Bay Area and play with the Golden State Warriors for next season and maybe some Thunder players are actually fine with that. Reports are saying that long before his decision, teammates on the Thunder were not feeling how friendly Durant was with Warriors players. Anytime a marquee player leaves one franchise for another, there are bound to be reports and comments from former teammates or people affiliated with the team that can’t always be trusted but this seems pretty legit.

NBA fans could not wait for this past Monday, January 25th. That’s because that was supposed to be the ultimate matchup with the Warriors against the Spurs. Since the Spurs lost by 30, it may turn out the biggest game of the season is the Warriors against Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and the Thunder. The last time we saw Kevin Durant play was on February 19th against the Dallas Mavericks. So much has happened in the league since this past Winter that it is easy to see why many people have fallen asleep on the beast that is KD. (Photos) NBA: Scott Brooks Gives Up Coaching Prospects

What turned out to be a catastrophic melt down for the Oklahoma City Thunder–after being hit with injury after injury–took a turn for better, or worse depending on who you ask, after they decided to cut ties with head coach Scott Brooks. Normally, a coach would be hungry to find a new opportunity but it doesn’t look like Scott had that same passion–right now. Click more to check the full story!

(Photo) NBA: New Job Opportunity In OKC

No surprise that Scottie Brooks’ job was on the line after The Oklahoma City Thunder failed to make to  the finals after the 2011-12 season but more so that the they didn’t even make the playoffs this season.  Obvious factors such as Serge Ibaka and Kevin Durant being injured played a role in them not appearing in the playoffs but this decision by the Thunder’s front office was clearly made because of a lack of a championship title under Brooks.

NBA: So Petty, LOL! Shawn Kemp Throws Party In Seattle To Celebrate OKC Not Making The Playoffs

People in Seattle are still fuming mad at the NBA and Oklahoma City Thunder for taking their beloved franchise and relocating after all the time spent in the northwest. You would think they would at least support the players because the team moving had nothing to do with them but it sounds like folks in the emerald city are just full of hate towards the organization period. Turns out former players like Shawn Kemp feel the same way because last night he threw a bash at a club in Seattle and it was all in the name of celebrating OKC missing the playoffs. The idea itself is kind of funny, but at the end of the day it’s petty and doesn’t help them get a new team anytime soon. The city almost became the new home of the Sacramento Kings before new owners stepped in and kept the team in place this past summer.
