I really thought it was going to be Bridesmaids who won this battle BUT the Marvel Studios epic “Thor” stays on top of the box office charts for a second week straight. According to film trackers, Thor has made nearly $35 million since its opening Friday and for the second straight weekend has dominated the North American box office. Read more after the jump!!

(IBT)–Citing the data from tracker company, Exhibitor Relations, the Agence France Presse estimated its total earnings now at $120 million for its first two weekends.

The second top film in the U.S. box office is the new entry, Bridesmaids which reportedly earned $24.4 million. This is a comedy about a group of women preparing for their wedding.

Taking the third spot is Fast Five starring Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson earning $19.5 million in its third week in the U.S. The heist film remains strong at the box office after breaking record for opening week for the year at $86 million in its opening week.

Rounding up the top four and five are Priest and Rio respectively. Priest, starring Paul Bettany who plays the lead role hunting vampires reportedly opened at $14.5 million while Rio raked in $8 million over the weekend and now has a reported earnings at $125 million in its five weeks in theaters.

Final results for the weekend box office will be available Monday.
