Yesterday it was reported that Dwight Howard added the Clippers to his trade wish list.  Last night he was asked about it, Check what he had to say after the jump…

Dwight Howard is denying a report from Sheridan Hoops that said he has added the Los Angeles Clippers to his list of teams with which he’s willing to sign a long-term contract extension.

Asked about his future, Howard said, per the Orlando Sentinel, “Right now, I’m with the Magic. That’s the only thing that matters.”

He added, facetiously, “Sources say Dwight Howard is signing with the Harlem Globetrotters.”

Additionally, Magic GM Otis Smith said Howard’s representatives have given no indication that the star center has added any teams to his list of preferred destinations beyond the Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Lakers and New Jersey Nets.

Howard’s and Smith’s assertions are confirmed by Real GM, which reports that Howard’s list has not changed.

Also, the Los Angeles Times reports that the Magic and Clippers have not had any discussions about a trade involving Howard. The Clippers would not be willing to give up Blake Griffin for Howard, and Orlando has no interest in Clippers center DeAndre Jordan, executives from both teams told The Times.

Chris Sheridan, however, is sticking to his story, writing that Howard may consider the Clippers if “circumstances over the next several months make those first three destinations unattainable.” The Lakers, reports Sheridan, are a “distant third” on Howard’s list behind the Nets and Mavs. Sheridan stresses that a sign-and-trade next summer is the only feasible way for the Clippers to land Howard.

Sheridan outlines a scenario by which Howard could end up with the Clippers: 1) Dallas fails to trade Shawn Marion for an expiring contract(s); 2) Deron Williams opts out with the Nets and signs with Dallas, which would not leave the Mavs with enough cap space to acquire Howard, too; 3) Howard decides against the Nets, who would no longer have Williams; 4) with the Mavs and Nets out of the picture the Lakers get outbid.
