Jeremy Lin fever has hit the White House.

President Obama, a huge basketball fan, is avidly following the exploits of Lin, the out-of-nowhere point guard who has now led the New York Knicks to six straight wins.

Last night, Lin hit the game-winning 3-point shot as the Knicks beat Toronto.

“It’s just a great story,” Carney said. “The president was saying as much this morning.”

We assume Obama’s admiration will have its limits; Lin’s Knicks play in the same conference as the president’s beloved Chicago Bulls, and could meet in the playoffs this spring.
