NYPD and FDNY divers pulled a teenage boy from the East River at E. 105th St. on Saturday night, but couldn’t save his life, authorities said.

The boy, whom police believe is 15 years old, was rushed to Metropolitan Hospital, where he died.

A friend of the boy reported to 911 he’d fallen into the chilly river waters just before 8:30 p.m., police said.

The incident occurred just as the NYPD and U.S. Coast Guard were announcing the rescue of a 60-year-old man with head trauma from the Norwegian Gem cruise ship as it was leaving the city.

The “high risk” maneuver was successfully completed when the 55-foot rescue boat caught up to the much larger cruise liner and positioned itself for a transfer of the man as both vessels were in motion.

The man was brought to Richmond University Medical Center in stable condition.
