America couldn’t get enough of Linsanity and more than a few made a handsome profit off Jeremy Lin’s sudden emergence.

Now, it appears that Lin will be the only one pocketing money off the phrase that caught hold during his rise as an NBA sensation. According to The Huffington Post, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has rejected the remaining applicants for the Linsanity trademark. Lin is the only candidate remaining, says his lawyer, Pamela Diese. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has not yet confirmed the action.

“We’re delighted,” Diese told The Huffington Post. “This is the right result.”

After Lin bounced from his brother’s couch to front page of newspapers around the nation, everyone wanted a piece of the action. The name, ‘Linsanity’ appeared on everything from T-shirts to medical marijuana dispensers selling Linsanity pot.

Lin on Feb. 13 officially applied for the trademark. Nearly a dozen other applicants hung on until the end hoping to win the name. The trademark office, The Huffington Post reports, was also working on preventing spins off the name or phonetic versions like Lynn.

Lin was lost for the season with knee injury. Still, his Knicks jersey was the No. 2 seller in the NBA behind the Chicago Bulls’ Derrick Rose.
