Usually pretty mum about her private life, especially her former relationship with Chris Brown, Rihanna opens up in this month’s issue of Harper’s Bazaar, on newsstands July 17th. In the interview, the singer not only speaks on her “pretty much non-existent” love life, as well as being in love with Breezy. Check out a few excerpts below!

“When I was in love, I fell so hard. I was really, really, really in love,” the “Where Have You Been” singer, 24, tells the magazine. “The way it made me feel was priceless. And in a blink of an eye my whole life changed. Everything that I knew was different. I never thought I’d feel that pain in my life,” she tells the magazine. “I’m afraid of feeling that again.”

As for her professional reunion with Brown, RiRi says fans’ disapproval was understandable, yet unnecessary.

“I understood that people had every right to be concerned about it. But I didn’t see it that way because I’m in a different place,” she says.

Though she’s moved on, the chart-topping songstress seems to be more guarded nowadays.

“I have been conservative in my love life… it’s pretty much nonexistent,” she admits. “If I come across someone who I find really cool, I’ll hang out. But the minute I find that we’re getting too close I just — I don’t let people in.”
