Apple monitors and approves/denies all apps that come through the app store. They also take their usual cut of 30% of the total revenue charged for subscription services within an app. Microsoft is the developer responsible for SkyDrive, which is the main reason for this mess. They have not agreed to pay Apple their cut and in return Apple has block all users from updating the application. Even when they tried to submit a version without a subscription option, free or paid, they were still denied.
