IFWT Anquan Boldin

Wide receiver Anquan Boldin boldly stated that he would retire if he was cut from the Baltimore Ravens; the question now is will he take a pay cut to remain on the team?  Read more after the jump.

After the Ravens wrapped up their record making deal with quarterback Joe Flacco, it was already known that cuts would be needed to help them remain under the cap and be able to sign linebacker Dannell Ellerbe who’s next in line in the priority level.

Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com, reports that the Ravens want Boldin to renegotiate the $6 million base salary he is set to earn in 2013, and that if he declines, he will be released before Tuesday’s start of the free-agent signing period.

The 32-year-old Boldin led the Ravens in both catches and receiving yards, both in the regular season and the postseason. If he goes, he’d be a significant loss in Baltimore.

However if he’s as dedicated to remain a Raven as he said before, my guess is he’ll take the paycut.  It’s better than not playing at all.
