IFWT Manu Ginobli

Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade was in a serious slump before he exploded with 32 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the Heat’s 109-93 game 4 win over the San Antonio Spurs.  Like Wade, Spurs guard Manu Ginolbi has been in a slump and leaving the Spurs Big 3 as a Big 2.  The Spurs are hoping Ginobli breaks out of the slump like Wade to help them win an important game 5.  Read more after the jump.

“I’m sure he’s going to break out of that slump,” said point guard Tony Parker, Ginobili’s teammate since 2002-03. “I’ve been playing with him for a long time. I just know he’s going to have a big game soon.”

Through four games of his fourth NBA Finals, Ginobili has totaled 30 points — 17 total in the last three outings — and seven turnovers. He has made 10 of 29 shots. He has missed his last nine 3-point attempts.

“I wish I could score more, but it’s not happening,” Ginobili said. “I have to do other stuff. I don’t have to force the issue.”

“I think he’s trying to be incredibly unselfish right now,” Duncan said. “He’s trying to make the right play at the right time instead of looking more for his own.”

“He’s going to get himself going or he won’t,” Popovich said. “He knows he’s got to play better for us to be successful.”
