He’s baaaaack. Finally. Now I can stop hearing annoying reporters every Sunday try and give their own opinion as to why Rob Gronkowski is not playing. All of this is bad sfor the Jets, whom the Patriots play this Sunday. The Pats are a remarkable 5-1 this season playing mostly with a below average offense. The exception of course is Tom Brady. If Brady has been able to keep them playing well with bad players, having one of his favorite weapons back should mean bad news for opponents. Hit the jump for more.

NFL Media’s Albert Breer reported Friday that agent Drew Rosenhaus told him the New England Patriots tight end “has now been cleared by all his doctors to play Sunday in the Jets game.”

Gronkowski has practiced fully with teammates for weeks, but Dr. James Andrews held off clearing Gronkowski to play because of issues with his forearm. Coming off multiple surgeries on that arm along with an offseason procedure on his back, Gronk’s return has been treated with caution.

Amid reports Gronkowski’s practice-no-play schedule had generated resentment in the locker room, it also was reported that the tight end’s sluggish return from injury was linked to concerns his father had about the situation. Patriots coach Bill Belichick told Breer last week, “As it relates to our medical people, we have confidence in all of them. And they do a good job.”

Now those medical personnel have cleared Gronkowski to take the field, furnishing quarterback Tom Brady with his most dangerous pass-catcher. Considering the team has jumped out to a 5-1 record in Gronkowski’s absence, including a win over the Jets in Week 2, this couldn’t come at a worse time for New York — or a better time for the Patriots.

Not long after agent Drew Rosenhaus told NFL Media’s Albert Breer that Rob Gronkowski had been cleared to play Sunday by doctors, the New England Patriots tight end took to YouTube to trumpet his return.

SuperStar Rob Gronkowski gave BODYARMOR SuperDrink, the beverage brand he is a partner/investor in, the opportunity to document his recovery. What resulted was this intimate look at how he’s been working to get back on the field, narrated by Gronk himself. #BackToSuper
