Even after missing an entire season to recover from surgery, Cavs big man Andrew Bynum is feeling that his body isn’t up to it. He is only in his mid 20’s, but with a man of his size, the body can get old much faster. Now only 5 games into the new NBA season, he is considering giving it up. Bynum said “Retirement was a thought, it was a serious thought. It still is. It’s tough to enjoy the game because of how limited I am physically. I’m working through that. Every now and again I do think about retirement, It’s still career threatening. I’m a shell of myself on the court right now. I’m just struggling mentally.” Hit the jump for more.

After being traded to Philadelphia last season his career seemed to have so much hope. But the surgery while he was with the sixers, plus the opinion of fans that he wasn’t serious about rehab to get back on the court put a foul taste in fans mouths about him. Cleveland has been careful with him after acquiring him over the summer. They don’t want him to practice hard or play in back to back games. His performance on the court actually looks like someone who is not only still trying to get back from injury, but also of someone who just doesn’t have the passion to play.
