Kendrick Lamar is preparing for his second album and he even got rap icon Nas to cosign it. Nas spoke about the LA rapper upcoming album saying that he is a rapper that actually makes albums and not singles ! Kendrick debut album was crazy! Even for a person that doesn’t like rap his album was dope. Hit the jump to see what else Nas had to say.
“It’s something I thought about with Kendrick because his first album was received so well and already in his career, outside of his album, he shook up the rap game. So he’s just set up for his second offering. The [anticipation] is through the roof. It’s such a great place to be for someone who’s a writer, especially in a business today where it’s about singles and records that just go off in the club. It’s more artists coming out just slinging singles than banging albums. He’s an album guy. Those guys, it’s a different league. It’s an exciting moment for us.”
Kendrick is definitely doing his thing out here! And to have a vet in the game such as Nas to cosign is even better, can’t wait until K.dot drops this new album.
l agree with Nas. Kendrick is on another level he’s bought to shake the game up, so all those artist that been enjoying the fruits without labor better get your creativity together cuz he bought to put in some work.
