According to a new report, a clinic employee tells investigators the picture was taken while Rivers was under anesthesia.
Terrible! Rivers’ personal ear, nose, and throat doctor reportedly took a selfie with the comedian while she under general anesthesia for her throat procedure.
According to CNN, a staff member of Yorkville Endoscopy told investigators the photograph was taken while Rivers was in the procedure room.
The 81-year-old went to the Yorkville clinic for an endoscopy procedure that was scheduled by gastroenterologist and the clinic’s medical director Dr. Lawrence Cohen, according to reports.
CNN reports that Rivers then had an unauthorized vocal cord biopsy after the endoscopy. The physician who performed the vocal the procedures hasn’t been identified.
It is unclear whether Cohen voluntarily stepped down as medical director of the clinic or if he was fired, but last Friday, Yorkville Endoscopy announced Dr. Cohen was no longer at the clinic.
“Dr. Cohen is not currently performing procedures at Yorkville Endoscopy, nor is he currently serving as medical director,” a spokesperson from the clinic said in a statement obtained by TheWrap.
