The Eagles started off solid last year have taken a bit of a hit. They will be starting the next game missing 3 of their 5 starting linemen after a complete season of having all 5. Jason Kelce is in route to have surgery for a “sports hernia” which he acquired in last Sunday’s game against Washington. (ouch!)
Coach Chip Kelly said Monday that he didn’t know how much time Kelce would miss or whether he could return this season. Mathis is on injured reserve-designated to return, a category limited to one player.
