Are these guys out of their mind? Or do they have a valid point? While appearing On ESPN’s “Numbers Never Lie”, NBA inside reporter Chris Broussard was asked if the Clippers have a valid shot at winning the NBA title. The Clippers have been bounced from the playoffs no later than the second round in each year Chris Paul has been there. As Broussard attempted to answer, he revealed something that execs around the league are thinking. The Clippers can’t win cause Chris Paul is already falling off! Hit the jump.

My personal opinion is the Clippers have no shot at winning an NBA title. They are a good team, but they are not built for those rugged, drawn out playoff series, especially in the west where honestly there are couple teams just flat out better than them. Some NBA execs however took it even further and think it is because of Paul, and they also claim they noticed in last year’s playoffs that CP3 just straight up couldn’t handle Russell Westbrook!

“I’ve talked to a few executives — two in fact who are huge Chris Paul fans in the past and now — but they think he’s lost a little something,” Broussard said. “They felt like the way he crumbled in Game 5 against Russell Westbrook — they should have won that game — Chris makes two turnovers in the last 13 seconds — they felt like Westbrook’s athleticism overwhelmed Chris.”

It is true that Westrook’s athleticism is freakish and CP3 is not on the same level as him when it comes to that, but Paul is still better at running an actual team and offense. Then again, these execs have been around the game for decades and maybe see something that we as fans just can’t see. I stil expect Paul to be an all-star year in and year out, but I do not think the Clippers will win a title during his career.
