IFWT_Chief Banks III 1
Chief Phillip Banks III, decided to step down instead of take a new position that would have seen him named 1st Deputy Commissioner. That ranking would have made him second in command to the largest police force in the Country!

Storm

Progression is something that should always be praised. Chief Phillip Banks III was in line to be the Highest Ranking Black officer in the NYPD. Banks III had served on the police force for nearly 30 years and was previously head of community affairs under Raymond Kelly. It was reported that his reasons for leaving are personal and professional causes. Mayor Bill De Blasio expressed words toward Chief Phillip Banks III praising his “leadership and energy” also saying that he served admirably. Its morose to see a man held in such high standard step down from such an opportunity; then again you don’t know a person until you walk a mile in their shoes. The service of Chief Banks III is something that should be forever noticed. The people of NY should stand proud.
