In case you haven’t heard, a group who calls themselves ‘Guardians of Peace’ have hacked into Sony Picture’s email database. Via the emails, not only has the group revealed some damning evidence of popular name basing, racial as well as gender bias, but we’ve also seen budget hacks and now, there are a few possible movies on the way that star some of the big names in music; names like Destiny’s Child and Kanye West.

More after the jump.

Destiny’s Child has been around since the early 90s, and although they have all immersed themselves into solo careers, the group attempts have not taken a backseat just yet. In the latest Sony Pictures fiasco, emails between Clint Culpepper and Amy Pascal, co-chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment reveal that Matthew Knowles is in the process of pitching a Destiny’s Child biopic to the film company.

“Matthew Knowles, Beyonce’s Father wants to make the film of Destiny’s Child and came to me first,” wrote Culpepper. “He’s going to Universal next. Do we think it would be a successful film? They’re on Sony label. I’m just not sure that it’s not too soon.”

I think it would be a great idea for the film, especially through the lens of the group’s longtime manager, and the father of Beyonce. However, like Sony states as a concern, is it the right time? I’m thinking no, because Destiny’s Child still has some life left. Maybe another album, tour, appearance, etc.

In addition to a possible Destiny’s Child biopic, we may be seeing Mr. Don’t Smile himself on the big screen. Kanye West’s creative director, Elon Rutberg emailed Pascal about feature film that maybe on the way.

“I supervise all of Kanye’s film and media projects, and we have a major film project coming up that involves both cinematic and technological innovation, so I naturally thought Sony and wanted to reach out,” wrote Rutberg. “We premiered a multi-screen cinema experience to great response at Cannes 2012, and are looking to take the storytelling to the next level with a feature length film, shot for an immersive cinema experience.”

Hmm, interesting. I would like to see what both of these films will look like. Let me know, are you willing to watch a Destiny’s Child biopic? Thoughts?
