Phoenix Mercury star Brittney Griner arrested Wednesday on suspicion of assault and disorderly conduct, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. No details have been released about incident as of yet but Griner’s fiance’ Glory Johnson was also arrested on the same charges.
Griner is best known for her unbelievable dunks and glory days at Baylor University where she helped bring back a NCAA title in 2012. Griner’s elite abilities have transcended over to her WNBA career where she help bring title to the Mercury in 2014 and won WNBA Defensive Player of the Year.
Jail records show that Griner was released around 4 a.m. on Thursday.
