The Oklahoma City Thunder announced they fired head coach Scott Brooks on Wednesday. Many wondered if the star players Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook were consulted about the firing especially since Durant will become a free agent in 2016. Durant posted on Instagram and said he was 100% behind the Thunder’s decision.
While Durant says he supports the team’s decision, he also will miss Brooks and appreciates everything he did for him and the team.
Durant has reiterated that he looks forward to the future with OKC, but it remains to be seen if he will remain with the team when he becomes an unrestricted free agent.
It’s no doubt that a lot will depend on the upcoming season and the coach they hire to replace Brooks.
