Super model and actress Naomi Campbell will star in a digital reality/talk show series, “I Am Naomi”, which will debut on Yahoo’s streaming service Screens. Find out the details after the jump!
“I think there’s something so unpredictable and spontaneous about her, my favorite part about Naomi is that a lot of people don’t know how hysterical she is, full of bites.” said Joe Zee, editor-in-chief of Yahoo Style. “So many different people from different walks of life love her, she was with Hillary Clinton the other night and she knows Oprah and Justin Bieber is obsessed with her. I thought, ‘Who else can get the cross section of people that Naomi can?” The new reality show/ talkshow still has no air date.
Campbell is no stranger to reality tv, she was a judge on Oxygen’s reality competition The Face. The show featured three Super model mentors, Campbell, Erin O’Connor and Caroline Winberg. With each having a team of young aspiring models , The teams would take on the same challenge which would consist of walking a catwalk or posing for a photoshoot, with the client ultimately choosing a winning group. The losing group’s mentor would then have to put one of their own team up for “eviction”.
Most recently Naomi has co-starred on the hit fox series Empire. Where she plays Camilla, an alluring older woman involved in a steamy affair with the the youngest, could be heir to a multi-million dollar music company, Hakeem Lyon (Bryshere Gray).
Yahoo has definitely been stepping up their streaming game with original content. The addition of “I am Namoi” to a line up that consists of Concerts by Live Nation,The hilarious Other Space, Sin City Saints and the 6th season of Community, (Thanks Tatwza, I had no idea there was a 6th season of Community) that premiered back in March.
