Denzel Murray, 14; Shaquell Cooper, 15; Ethan Phillip, 15; and Onandi Brown, 17, have been arrested following the Brooklyn gang rape of an 18-year-old in Brownsville’s Osborn Playground. The teens will be charged, as adults, with one count of rape and sex abuse, and two counts of committing a criminal sex act. The fifth suspect who was later identified, Travis Beckford, 17, has yet to be arraigned.

A lawyer for one of the suspects is assuming the case would be thrown out of the window due to community rumors.

“The case is getting weaker by the day,” Spencer Leeds, a lawyer for one of the suspects told the Daily News. “This case is on its way to disappearing. There’s a belief in the neighborhood in the Brownsville community that the complaining witness and the father have had sexual intercourse.”

“Can we have some of that?” one of the teenage boys allegedly asked the father, upon walking up on him having sex with his daughter.

The father staggered away as two of the teens began having sex with the 18-year-old woman, according to the Daily News. He then drunkenly wandered around for minutes before actually getting help.

Brown is being held on a $25,000 bail; Cooper is being held on a $50,000 bail; while Phillip and Murray were held on $10,000 bail.

#IJS: While the alleged incestuous actions are horribly disgusting, should that be an excuse to gang rape a woman? Did she say no, or did she say yes? I’m just saying, I’m baffled.
