Richard Sherman is not going to be happy because the NFL owners have approved a one-year trial of the new ejection rule.

– The ejection rule states players will be ejected from the game after receiving two unsportsmanlike penalties in the same game.

Sherman stated that the rule is foolish and is something somebody who never played the game would suggest.  Some coaches had expressed concern about players baiting opponents into getting a second foul that removes them from the game when discussing their misgivings about the rule.

The objection to the rule is likely why it was given a one-year trial, but the proposal to move the snap for extra point kicks to the 15-yard-line was given the same trial and eventually became permanent.

– The owners also agreed that touchbacks will now be brought out to the 25-yard line.  It was approved to discourage kickoff returns which the NFL deems the most dangerous play in the game.  This is also on a one-year trial.

– The NFL also changes IR designated to return rules.  You can designate that player once ready to return (and take off IR) rather than initially.

– All chop blocks are now illegal.
