The friendship between Lebron James and Dwyane Wade is talked about almost as much as the NBA itself these days. The bromance with them is either really adored by fans or truly hated by old school thinkers who believe that opponents shouldn’t be so close. After being together all the time for four straight years, it’s just not realistic to expect them to not remain as tight as they were. Recently, Pablo Torre of ESPN wrote a story about the friends/opponents that included some exclusive info from Wade’s wife, Gabrielle Union. She might even be jealous of their relationship.

Gabrielle has fully embraced how close the Bron & D-Wade are and even incorporated Bron’s signature foot stomp celebration into her wedding with Dwyane. She would know just how close they are probably more than anyone, although she admits that Bron actually knows more than she does about her own husband.

“If we played ‘The Newlywed Game,'” Union admits, “I don’t know if I’d have more information on my husband than Bron would.”

Wade laughs.

“Me and Bron would know waaay more,” he says. “Obviously.”

That is just one example. Another that Gabrielle mentioned in the piece was the time that Bron ordered dinner for Dwyane, even though she was sitting right there.

“My wife wouldn’t know what to order,” Wade says, “but Bron’s like, I got it.” Two years ago, at just such a dinner in New Orleans, Union could only watch, deeply confused, as James unilaterally picked sea bass for a man who’d expressed a lifelong distaste for fish. “It’s what I wanted,” her husband would later explain, shrugging. “Bron got me on sea bass.”

She goes on to talk about the non-stop text messages and voice notes the guys share, as if they are high school girls who can’t be apart. It’s pretty dope that a friendship is able to exist in such a competitive environment and with social media always in someone’s business. People always want to think you can’t be friends with the opponent but the game of basketball, or any sport for that matter, only lasts maybe 10-15 years. Friendship is for life. As long as on the court they show no mercy to each other then their should be no issue.
