This week’s opening sales for new albums are about to come head to head with Childish Gambino, The Hamilton mixtape, and John Legend. Although, it’s probably not what you would expect…

Hits Daily Double projects Childish Gambino’s third album will move between 85K and 95K Sales-Plus-Streaming during its first seven days of release, while the “mixtape” to Broadway’s Hamilton is expecting to double that and move around 190-200K copies.

The Hamilton project has heavy hitters like Nas, John Legend, Busta Rhymes, Joell Ortiz, The Roots, Chance The Rapper and more.

Gambino drops this surprise yet not so surprising album in the wake of his critically acclaimed tv show “Atlanta”.

John Legend on the other hand released his Darkness and Light album and is projected to do between 35K and 40K its opening week.

We’ll see how this all fares out, but in all fairness I bet that run in with the future Vice President of the United States, Mike Pence, definitely helped boost the sales and projections of Hamilton.
