In the video Brown goes into the store and approaches employees where he exchanges a small bag for another bag that contained cigarillos. Before he leaves the store we can see him turning around and handing the bag back to employees. It has been reported that Brown was going to pick them back up later. He left them there for the store keepers to keep safe. Police released a video of Brown reaching over the counter to grab the bag. Employees were then seen pushing him out of the way. People believe that Brown probably was exchange the bag for Marijuana.

Filmmaker Jason Pollock included the new footage at SxSW for his documentary Strange Fruit. He says,

“They destroyed Michael’s character with the tape, and they didn’t show us what actually happened. So this shows their intention to make him look bad. And shows suppression of evidence.”

Mike Brown’s mother, also believes there was some sort of exchange between her son and the store owners. A lawyer for Ferguson Market and Liquor employees says that this video was pretty irrelevant and had nothing to do with Brown’s second visit to the store.

“There was no transaction. There was no understanding. No agreement. Those folks didn’t sell him cigarillos for pot. The reason he gave it back is he was walking out the door with unpaid merchandise and they wanted it back.”
