(Video) Mistrial Called In Murder Case Against Officer Who Shot Walter Scott

A judge has just ruled a mistrial in the murder case against the cop who shot and killed Walter Scott. Jurors were not able to reach a unanimous verdict in the case. The mistrial came after hours of deliberating. Jurors claim they could not reach a unanimous consensus. There were 11 white jurors and one black juror.

Former South Carolina police officer, Michael Slager, has just been indicted in the death of Walter Scott. Slager is facing federal civil rights charges. He was indicted on three charges such as obstruction of justice and violating constitutionally protected civil rights.


Michael Slager, Former Cop Who Killed Walter Scott, Released On Half Million Dollar Bail

Following the 2015 video footage – shot by Feidin Santana – of former South Carolina police officer Michael Slager shooting a handcuffed Walter Scott, 50, in the back eight times, a jury decided to indict him (unlike some other officers we’ve heard of). Although a judge denied Slager’s bail back in September, claiming the release “would constitute an unreasonable danger to the community,” he has since changed him mind, and allowed Slager to be let out on a $500,000 bail. The City Of North Charleston Agrees To Pay The Family Of Walter Scott $6.5MiL In Recent Settlement

While the number $6.5 million may sound good, the family of Walter Scott will be receiving the amount at the expense of Scott’s life. The city of North Charleston in South Carolina has agreed to disperse funds to help the family after officer [now former] Michael Slager rang out eight shots that killed the 50-year-old-man. Grand Jury Indicts South Carolina Officer In The Death Of Walter Scott

State Prosecutor, Scarlett Wilson announced this morning that South Carolina police officer Michael Slager was indicted on the April murder of Walter Scott. Wilson adds that murder was the only charge presented to the grand jury, and the grand jury indicts South Carolina officer almost immediately got indicted. He may not be eligible for parole.
