Gunplay On Meek/Drake Drama: “Writing Your Own Raps Doesn’t Really Matter Anymore”

MMG’s own Gunplay recently sat down with FADER to discuss the recent drama circulating in the rap world around Drake and Meek Mill’s beef that was ignited over ghostwriting claims. According to Gunplay, writing your own raps doesn’t even matter as much anymore like it did back in the day due to the fact everyone basically has a ghostwriter now-a-days. Hmmm, strong claim but I’m sure he has a very valid point. See what Gunplay had to say below in the short clip from his interview with FADER.

Lupe Fiasco Pens An Open Letter On The Meek Mill/Drake Drama Titled, The Haunting

Once Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill went on Twitter to spill his guts about Drake housing his own personal ghostwriter, he caused an extreme debate about creating your own material. While there has been a major divide, Meek Mill fans versus Drake fans and team ghostwriter versus writing your own lyrics; there is one rapper who has an opinion minus the negativity. Lupe Fiasco. In a two-part letter he titled, The Haunting, Lupe speaks about the many makings of a rapper, and the recollection of an early encounter with Meek Mill as well as an even earlier encounter with Drake’s music. “The rest is history.” Check out The Haunting after the jump.

(Video) Did This Cali Rapper Write Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy”?

Is I-G-G-Y a L-I-A-R? Possibly. The Australian raptress has always adamantly denied rumors that she doesn’t write her own lyrics – something that for whatever reason, many feel is a skill that women who rap don’t possess like their male counterparts. In a new interview with Sway In The Morning, however, Iggy’s past collaborator Skeme (an up-and-comer from Inglewood, CA) sort of spilled the beans on his parts of her smash hit, “Fancy.” “Yeah, we had something to do with it,” Skeme responded to Sway after trying to change the subject. “A lot of vibe, a lot of push. We about to put trust funds up for that song.”
