Jay Z Has Already Announced His Second TV Project

Earlier this month, Jay Z announced a two-year film and television development deal with the Weinstein Company. He quickly announced his first project, a mini-series on Spike TV about Kalief Browder, the high school student who was held at Rikers Island for three years without trial for the theft of a backpack, and later killed himself upon his release. Now, he’s announced the second project, and it’s equally as powerful. This one will be for NBC, and it will be a series about Nicholas Irving, the first African-American to serve as a Special Operations Direct Action Sniper in the 3rd Ranger Battalion for the U.S. Military.

Jay-Z Speaks Out On Police Brutality During Press Conference

Earlier we announced that Jay-Z would be working on a new television series with The Weinstein Company which will centralize around Kalief Browder, a 16-year-old who was imprisoned on Rikers Island for three years without conviction before taking his own life. Jay did a press conference about the show when a reporter asked him what he thinks is the best way to “[stop] police brutality against African-American men.”


Jay-Z Is Reportedly Doing A ‘LEMONADE’ Response Tour

Looks like we will possibly be getting a response to ‘LEMONADE’ from Jay-Z and this time it will be in Tour form! It has been reported that a ticket agency, not sure which one, sent out an email to its VIP customers with this line: “Hear Jay Z’s response to Lemonade during his highly anticipated 2017 world tour.” Aw man!


Jay Z Announces First Project From His New TV/Movie Deal

Last week, Jay Z announced he’d inked a two-year development deal with The Weinstein Co. for various movies and TV shows. In the press release, Hov said a few projects were already in the works, and today, he’s announced the first one. With a six-part docuseries, the Roc Nation mogul will tell the story of Kalief Browder, the high school student who was accused of stealing a backpack, and was sent to Rikers Island for 3 years without trial – two of which were spent in solitary confinement. He committed suicide shortly after his release.
