Tonight we’re all going nuts bumping to Maino and Jadakiss’ new song “What Happened” tonight, but the rapper had a way less “happening” night recently. Footage has surfaced of Maino getting arrested a few weeks back in NYC, as he was initially pulled over for driving his Bentley without a front license plate, but it was then discovered his license was suspended. No biggie, though. He was later booked and released, and is due back in court this November. I’m sure he was tuned into the MOVIE Flex made tonight of his new single…but hopefully it was from the passenger side!
Tyra Banks Files $10 Million Lawsuit Against 10 Wig Companies
Tyra Banks has filed a lawsuit in L.A against 10 different wig makers, claiming they’re all biting her “name, photograph, image, identity and trademarks.” The companies have been using Tyra’s image in advertising, as well as naming some of their hair after her, and the America’s Next Top Model host is NOT with it. Tyra is suing for an injunction to stop the sale of the infringing products, and at least $10 million in damages.
Miguel Officially Charged With DUI
Miguel has officially been charged with 2 counts of drunk driving stemming from his arrest last month. *Cues “How Many Drinks” jokes… The singer’s case is scheduled to go before a judge next week.
Tyga Sued For $185k By Jeweler
Famed jeweler to the stars Jason of Beverly Hills wants his money, and he won’t stop until he gets it. He has filed a suit against Tyga to the tune of $185k, after the YMCMB rapper allegedly got a diamond watch and chain from him, but never paid up or returned the pieces. Jason claims T-Raw agreed to drop $28,275 for the jeweler’s diamond pantheon watch back in August of 2012, then borrowed a $63k diamond Cuban link chain in December, but never returned either piece. Now the jeweler is suing for the cost of both pieces, plus late fees, which comes to a total of $185,306.50. So far, no comment from Tyga or his camp.
Drake Sued By Stylist For Over $76k Worth Of Unpaid Bills
Wait, wait, wait…Drake has a stylist? They shouldn’t be suing him, he needs to sue them! LOL! A stylist that worked for Drizzy from August – December of 2012 has filed suit against the YMCMB rapper, claiming Drake owes him some big bucks for his consulting services, hotel bills, plane tickets and shopping bills. Michael Raphael says Drake hired him at a monthly rate of $39,583 (JEEZ!), and paid him with no issues from August to November. Something went awry in December, though, and not a cent was given….meanwhile Raphael allegedly spent nearly $40,000 of his own money on shopping and other expenses. Add that to his monthly salary, and he is now suing Drake for $76,490. No word from Drizzy just yet.
SMH: Intern Sues Bad Boy For Not Being Paid To Answer Phones & Get Coffee
Well here’s one person who won’t be getting much further in the music industry! A former intern at Diddy’s Bad Boy Records has filed suit against the label, claiming she should have been paid for the work she did from January 2012 to May 2012 that includes answering phones, getting lunch and coffee for paid employees, making deliveries and gift-wrapping presents. Wow…so tough. Unfortunately, Rashida Salaam may have a real case because of recent changes in the law regarding unpaid internships (no more free labor for course credit.) She definitely won’t be hired by another company in music, though!
