Therefore,they blocked the networks ability to use authentic Whitney tracks, which means someone else has to sing the songs. They hired Deborah Cox, to cover the songs and below is a clip of her covering “I Will Always Love You”. Deborah sounds good—no doubt about it, but of course people are going to complain that it’s different.. You be the judge….

Out with Disney’s Zendaya Coleman and in with Nickelodeon’s Alexandra Shipp. Lifetime has casted the 23 year old new girl as the new Aaliyah in the controversial film Aaliyah: Princess of R&B., and recited Wendy Williams as executive producer. “I’m excited to exec produce the Aaliyah @lifetimetv movie w/ @DebraMChase. Prod starts later this month and @AlexShipppp will play Aaliyah,” Wendy Williams tweeted. Check out the pictures of Alexandra in the gallery.

Lifetime has chosen Jill Scott, Regina Hall, and Eve for a movie that will revolve around three single best friends who make a pact to be married within the year after seeing their girlfriend get married. Zendaya Coleman DROPS Aaliyah Role For Biopic?!

  Well I guess the young Disney Channel Star couldn’t take the heat. After petitions and racial remarks of Zendaya not being “black enough” for the role of Aaliyah, it seems she has officially given up the role. E! News reports that a representative for the 17-year-old actress says “Zendaya is no longer involved in the project.” Lifetime, who was excited to announce her starring as the lead in the biopic on June 16, has not commented. Do you think this will be enough to stop Lifetime from doing the movie?
