MGK hits his fans with a new one called “Against the World” produced by Slim Gudz. Listen below.
Congrats are in order for Machine Gun Kelly, who has officially been cast in his fourth acting role since he broke into the acting world just a little over a year ago. Following his breakout role in this fall’s Beyond The Lights, with 2 more films under his belt set to be released this year – a horror film titled Viral, and the sequel to the cult classic SLC Punk, Punk Is Dead – Colson ‘MGK’ Baker has landed a role in Showtime’s new pilot, ROADIES.
ROADIES will focus on the lives of a group of roadies on tour, and give “an inside look at the reckless, romantic, funny and often poignant lives of a committed group of characters who live for music and the de facto family they’ve formed along the way.” They’re currently filming a one-hour pilot in Vancouver (for a potential series,) with writer/director Cameron Crowe at the helm, and cast members among the likes of Luke Wilson, Christina Hendricks and more. Kells will be playing the role of Jesse, “Kelly Ann’s (Imogen Poots) big-hearted twin brother, who thrives around guitars and espresso machines.”
This Friday, Colson ‘MGK‘ Baker will make his big-screen debut, starring as Kid Culprit in the romantic drama, Beyond The Lights. Since his 2012 Bad Boy/Interscope debut Lace Up and his breakout single “Wild Boy,” Kells has toured the world and shot not only Beyond The Lights, but two more as-of-yet unreleased films as well. He’s also been preparing his sophomore effort, which he says may have its first single out within weeks.
I got the opportunity to attend the screening in MGK’s hometown of Cleveland with him last week, just after hopping on the phone to talk about not only this role but what the Bad Boy rapper has in store for fans in the upcoming months. Check out a few excerpts from the interview below, as well as video of Kells premiering the movie to his friends and family in Cleveland. (P.S. I’ve heard the new single…and let’s just say that sophomore slump is something Kells won’t have to worry about!)
Machine Gun Kelly is on the road for his ‘No Class’ tour, and drops off another installment of his KellyVision vlog series. In part one of “Limping With The Bizkit,” we get a look at tour life with the legendary rock group Limp Bizkit – from crazy nights out, to tour bus antics and of course, raging on the stage. Check it out below.
On November 14th, we will finally be able to see the film Beyond The Lights in theaters everywhere! Here is the official trailer to the movie starring actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Danny Glover, Machine Gun Kelly and more!
Since he is soon to make his big-screen debut in Beyond The Lights, we’re kicking off today’s TBT with Machine Gun Kelly. Go back to Cleveland way before the ink and the “wild” antics in the gallery!
Machine Gun Kelly is making his big screen debut in Beyond The Lights, hitting theaters November 14. He’ll play a bad boy rapper by the name of Kid Culprit, who’s dating burgeoning songstress Noni Jean (played by Gugu Mbatha-Raw,) though she’s internally struggling with all the pressures, politics and shadiness of the music business.
In promotion of the film, they’ve released an official music video from Noni and Kid Culprit, “Masterpiece.” Short clips at the start and end of the video show Noni’s real state of mind, but the actual song is pretty dope! It’d be interesting if this took off the way “It’s Hard Out Here For A Pimp” from Hustle & Flow did. Check out the video below!
Machine Gun Kelly takes us back to last year’s “Black Flag” in the new video “Raise the Flag,” directed by JR Saint. Watch below.
The media always focuses on the crazy antics of most of our favorite artists, so when they do something positive, I always try to highlight it! Machine Gun Kelly’s ‘No Class Tour’ rolled through the Big Apple last night, and after a night of partying in celebration of Kells’ road manager Dre’s birthday and the 2-year anniversary of Kells’ debut album Lace Up, the EST crew made their way out to Queens to hang out with the kids this afternoon.
“Cooked up 3 big trays of chicken and beef sliders, and gave em away to the kids getting out of school today at Burgandy’s Cafe,” MGK wrote on Instagram. “Good food for good kids.” Looks like the kids were truly appreciative! [No word on K’s cooking skills just yet though. Ha!] More pics in the gallery. The ‘No Class Tour‘ continues tomorrow night in Boston.
