Reality TV shows about hip hop are becoming more and more popular with shows like “Love & Hip Hip,” and T.I’s “Family Hustle,” becoming household names. Now, there will be yet another show based on a hip hop couple and their life as newlyweds as well as them trying to launch their new business. MempHitz Files Lawsuit Against Love & Hip-Hop ATL Producers Over K. Michelle’s Claims
Millions of us have tuned in on Monday nights for the past couple of months to watch the drama ensue on VH1’s latest cash cow, Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta. Each character had their own story line, each one crazier than the next, I’m sure in an effort to secure more on-screen time. K. Michelle is an aspiring singer from the south, but her main focus wasn’t that. It was more on the ex that allegedly beat her so badly one night she’d suffered irreparable damage, and caused her career to flop when she allowed him to manage her. That ex is MempHitz, music exec and now husband to reality star/Weezy’s ex, Toya. The show gave K. Michelle a platform to continuously speak on what Memph had done to her, but gave no room for him to deny such serious claims. Now he’s had enough, and has decided to strike back in the form of a lawsuit. He is suing various parties involved in the production of the show, for one dollar per viewer per show for damages that stem from “the defamatory statements and denigrating actions” of K. Michelle. We have Basketball Wives, the Real Housewives series, Love & Hip-Hop in two different cities and even Hollywood Exes…aren’t there enough women making fools of themselves on TV?! Apparently not, as “The Real Mistresses Of Atlanta” is being added to the lineup. Memphitz produced the trailer and is currently shopping it around to networks. Sad to say, I’m sure this will get picked up. The cast includes model Rosee Divine, male model Branden (he’s gay), female rapper M’Jae, model/video vixen Sarah Oliver and stripper/video vixen Maliah Michel (who’s from and lives in Houston so the ATL thing makes zero sense).
