NBA: Amare Stoudemire Says He Wants to Stay With the Knicks & Win Championships

Amar’e Stoudemire has not lived up to the $99.7 million contract he signed in July of 2010 due to several injuries. Stoudemire’s contract expires after 2014-15 and if it’s up to him he wants to re-sign with the New York Knicks in the summer of 2015.

NBA: Trouble For The Knicks? Surprise Team Will Go After Carmelo This Summer

Knicks fans will not want to hear this. It is already bad enough that Carmelo Anthony will be a free agent and places like the Lakers and Bulls have been mentioned as serious destinations for him. The Bulls have the better overall team so that seems to be the more likely place if Melo was to leave the Knicks. But now an even better team is saying they are going to go after him as well. Hit the jump.

(Video) NBA: J.R Smith Throws it Off the Backboard & Amare Stoudemire Finishes

Surprisingly the Knicks have seen a great improvement since adding J.R Smith and Amare Stoudemire into the starting lineup.  They’ve gone from a seven-game losing streak to a three-game winning streak albeit against two sub .500 teams. Overall they’ve looked more cohesive.  On Saturday night during their 107-97 win over the Cavaliers, J.R Smith threw it off the backboard and Amare was able to lay it in.  The old Amare would’ve slammed it in but we know his knees aren’t what they used to be, just be glad he finished it off.

NBA Sources: Phil Jackson ‘Real Close’ to Taking Job As Knicks President

It’ll take a lot of things to get the New York Knicks back on track but is the Zen Master one of those things?  Well we might be able to find out real soon.  While Phil Jackson is adamant about not returning to coaching, sources say he’s strongly considering taking a job in the Knicks front office.

NBA: Knicks Will Reportedly Try to Trade Amare Stoudemire This Summer

The Knicks season is basically over and with no cap space or draft picks, next season looks bleak as well.  The big worry is that Carmelo Anthony will leave in free agency but he did say he would take a paycut to stay.  Another way to get cap relief and add better players is to trade Amare Stoudemire which is what one report says they’ll try to do.

NBA: Bulls Coach Tom Thibodeau Also On Knicks Radar to Replace Coach Mike Woodson

As I said before Knicks coach Mike Woodson will likely be fired soon which means a bunch of possible replacements are being speculated and reported.  While I mentioned Warriors coach Mark Jackson yesterday, today Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau is thrown into the mix.
