(Photos) The NWA Biopic Cast Has Been Finalized! Check Out Who’s Playing Who!

There are three people that must agree to everything on the upcoming NWA biopic “Straight Outta Compton” (Cube, Dre and Eazy-E’s widow Tomica Wright,) so it’s been a LONG time coming (five years and four different writers) but finally, the main roles have been casted and the production is about to be under way! As previously reported, Ice Cube’s 23-year-old son O’Shea Jackson Jr. will be playing his father. Today, we’ve learned that classically trained actor Marcus Callender will play Dr. Dre, while the even lesser-known Jason Mitchell will play Eazy-E. Both actors have had bit parts in a couple of TV shows, but nothing major at all, so this will definitely be huge for them both. Dre was lobbying for Fruitvale Station actor Michael B. Jordan to play him, but he had a prior commitment with a Fantastic Four reboot. F. Gary Gray (who’s previously worked with Cube on Friday) will hold directorial duties, and principal photography is set to begin in less than two months. I can’t WAIT to see this!

Earlier this year, Ice Cube confirmed that a NWA biopic Straight Outta Compton was being produced with the help of Dr. Dre, widow Tomica Woods-Wright, and Universal Studios. He also was very public about him wanting his son, O’Shea Jackson Jr., to audition for his role. It looks like the the rapper will get his way. Papa Cube recently revealed that his Junior got the role to play him in the film. To check out what Ice Cube had to say, click below.
