This is Phil Jackson’s first big move! We’ve heard the rumor for a while & now it’s official. Lamar Odom has signed with the Knicks. Hit the jump for what we know so far…
It appears Phil Jackson’s recent meeting with Lamar Odom wasn’t just two old friends catching up, as reports surface that the New York Knicks have expressed interest in signing the veteran free agent.
Since accepting the position as the Knicks President of Basketball Operations, Phil Jackson has been seen taking in several of the team’s games. He’s also used the opportunity to have informal meetings with some of his former players.
If you trust Phil Jackson’s opinion on basketball, then prepare yourself to see the Knicks pull off some upsets in the playoffs if they make it. It’s no secret that Mike Woodson’s tenure as the New York Knicks head coach is coming to an end. With Phil Jackson named as the Knicks new president he’ll be looking for a replacement and will likely use someone he is familiar with.
