The annual Busweiser Made In America Festival in Philly is back and this year the line up is definitely living up to par with artists like Kanye, Pharrell and J. Cole set to hit the stage. For the first time this year the festival will be bi-coastal, also taking place in L.A., with artists like Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q, Cypress Hill and John Mayer. Hold Up, Wait A Minute: Meek Mill Loses Lawsuit Against Philadelphia Police Department
MMG rapper Meek Mill filed a lawsuit against Philadelphia PD for an unlawful arrest from 2012 that cost him an endorsement deal with Puma. The police arrested Meek for alleged drug use on his tour bus, but he claims it was racially motivated. Unfortunately, Meek lost in court this past Thursday. The Philly native says, “In neighborhoods like where I come from, four black males in a car … we’re always being asked to be searched. All I was doing that night was going to work and doing what I had to do.” The arresting officer, Andre Boyer, has been fired since then for lying about various traffic stops and receiving lots of civil complaints. Here Are Details From Meek Mill’s First Day Of Court In His Lawsuit Against The City Of Philadelphia!!
We’re sure that you’ve heard about Meek Mill’s civil lawsuit against the city of Philadelphia. In the first day of many to come, Meek went on the record stating that the only reason he was pulled over on Halloween night 2012, is because he’s black. He was arrested for not letting officer’s search his car. However, according to Page Six, “The city argues that police, and a trained dog, smelled marijuana in the car. However, no drugs were found and no charges filed.” More info after the jump.
