Amazing! Erykah Badu Tapped As The Face Of Givenchy!
This is dope. Erykah Badu has been tapped as the new face of Givenchy’s spring 2014 campaign…and it’s the first campaign of its kind to exclusively use women of color. “There was a lot of talk this season in fashion [about designers not promoting diversity],” Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci said. “I was one of the persons who ended up not being touched by this.” And he REALLY loves Badu. I mean, who doesn’t? Erykah, she’s an icon—come on!” he said. “What I want to do with my advertising campaign is spread the love.” “She’s one of the most stylish women I’ve met in my life,” he added. “She’s got such a good sense of proportion, of colors.” Love it!
Kicks: New Female Dominating Sneakers? Check Out Alicia Keys x Reebok Spring 2014 Collection Preview
Alicia Keys is not going nowhere when it comes to keeping our feet fresh. I’m starting to hear her name mentioned more with reebok than anything to do with music, no shade Alicia, just saying. One of my favorite bloggers, Wendy lam of Nitrolicious, just posted some photos she took a couple months back of the new Alicia Keys x Reebok collection for Spring 2014. There are alot of different styles and colorways to choose from all with a girly touch! For the most part, the colors stayed pretty neutral on all the kicks, incorporating shades of beige, gold, and burgundy. A few neon accents pop-up here & there, but if you’re not into flashy kicks, this is definitely the collection for you. Melanie Fiona, Karrueche Tran, Ne-Yo, Emily B and many others appeared front-row and center to support fashion designer, Shateria. Rozay’s main squeeze has a thing for leather, and if she ever decides to appeal to a larger (*hint *hint *wink) audience, I’d possibly purchase a tee. The Spring 2014, FrontRow collection was previewed Wednesday, at STYLE360, during NYFW. I’d say these things are going to sell. Good stuff! Kicks: Check Out The New Colorway On The Air Jordan 3
The Jordan 3 is a classic style that every sneakerhead loves. You can never beat the Cement 3’s so I’m not sure why they even bother. Set to release in Spring 2014 is a Gray/Orange colorway of the Air Jordan 3. This brand new style features a couple different shades of gray around most of the shoe, with a white bottom. You see the hints of orange on very bottom of the shoe and on the eyelets. I have to say, these aren’t to bad, but it’s hard to drop the 3’s in colors like this, in my opinion.
