A JetBlue passenger had good reason to appear nervous when his luggage was selected for examination at Kennedy Airport – he was carrying handwritten notes titled, “Confession of the Mule,” authorities said.

Jose Acosta arrived Monday from St. Lucia on Flight 880 and was questioned by a U.S. Customs and Border Protection inspector.

Acosta was confronted with confessional notes dated Sept. 26, and he folded like a cheap suit, authorities said.

“The charade is up – you’ve got me,” Acosta said, according to a complaint filed yesterday in Brooklyn Federal Court.

He was taken to a private search room, where the inspector found 23 pellets of cocaine in a sock stashed in Acosta’s groin area, the complaint states.

After admitting that he had also swallowed narcotics, Acosta was taken to the airport medical facility, where he passed 18 more pellets, authorities said.

A second alleged drug mule on the same flight, Talecha Barthelmy, was also selected for questioning.

Barthelmy wasn’t carrying a smoking gun note like Acosta’s, but she admitted swallowing drugs and passed eight pellets of cocaine, according to a separate complaint. Both alleged smugglers were being held at the airport medical facility pending arraignment on the drug charges.
