Oh the drama!!! The Jets just can’t help but to have controversy surround the team and none of this should come as a surprise! SMH.
Yesterday Rex Ryan announced that not only was Mark Sanchez (finally) benched, but named Greg McElroy as the new starter…not Tim Tebow. So how does Tim feel about this?!  We haven’t heard directly from him (wouldn’t you love to just see him pull a Kobe and go off?! Lol), but according to close sources he is not happy and will request a trade.  Report after the jump…

According to Mike Freeman at National NFL Insider:

On Tebow being mislead:

What is a shock is that Tim Tebow didn’t get the start and I’m told he isn’t happy about it at all.

Greg McElroy will quarterback the team Sunday, but let’s back up for a moment. When the Jets traded for Tebow, he was informed that he would get a chance to start should something happen to Sanchez (either due to injury or benching). But that hasn’t truly happened and I’m told Tebow feels like the Jets misled him.

Tebow may deny this because he’s the good soldier but there’s no question he feels this way.

On requesting a trade:

The New York Daily News reported Tuesday that Tebow will request to be traded or released after the season assuming Greg McElroy starts the Jets’ final two games. Tebow is scheduled to earn $2.6 million in base salary in 2013, but the Jets can cut him with a minimal cap hit of $1 million, the paper reports.

Earlier Tuesday, NFL.com’s Jeff Darlington cited a source close to Tebow in reporting that the Jets’ decision to bypass him is “still too fresh,” and will necessitate digestion and contemplation before he makes his next move.
