Post every single violent tragedy someone poses the question, “Does violence in movies encourage real life violence?” Well director Quentin Tarantino was recently asked this question and spoke his mind about it calling it “annoying” and “disrespectful” to be asked such a question. His latest movie, Django Unchained, has plenty of violence in it and it’s premier was cancelled following the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT. When asked if the massacre made his movie “less fun” or if he “lost his taste” for the movie, Tarantino responded saying, “not for me.” He went on to say, after being asked if he was annoyed, “I think it’s disrespectful to…the memory of the people who died to talk about the movies. Obviously, the issue is gun control and mental health.” He ended the interview with, “I’ve been asked this question for 20 years, about the effects of violence in movies related to violence in real life. My answer is the same as 20 years ago. It hasn’t changed one iota. Obviously, I don’t think one has to do with the other,” according to E!
