Summly

It looks like Yahoo is really gearing up to do something mobile soon. We reported just a few days about Yahoo acquiring Jybe, a start up mobile app company. Now, Yahoo has a new acquisition, Summly, a mobile news gathering and delivery startup.

Reportedly the internet company paid close to $30 million for this latest acquisition. The entire Summly team will be joining Yahoo including its founder, 17 year old, Nick D’Aloisio. Yahoo’s Senior Vice President of Mobile and Emerging Products, Adam Cahan said in a blog post, “Across Yahoo!, we’re focused on creating beautiful experiences that people are excited to use every day — products that inspire and delight. We can’t wait to work with Nick and the Summly team to do just that.”
