"New Slaves" projection
Last night, Kanye West did another round of “New Slaves” projections on different building across the country. So far, Kanye has not had any issue with police shutting down the project until last night in Houston, Texas. Although the video was successfully projected on Rothko Chapel, a non-denominational sanctuary, people were not allowed to watch it after police stepped in. After police shut down the first projection, they also stepped into the other two that were supposed to occur. Read more below.

A crowd began to gather before the “New Slaves” projection started on the Chapel. Police arrived on scene to to shut down the peaceful gathering. At first people were unsure if the police cars were part of the show, but when they noticed they were real, they left. Police threatened to arrest people for trespassing. According to witnesses, they believe that police shut down all of Kanye’s projections. One fan gathered at the Central Library but was told they were having technical difficulties and failed to reschedule as promised. Another fan was at another screening that was announced but never happened.
