FGCU”s Eaglepalooza is a huge show being held at the county owned JetBlue Park on November 24th and this year’s guest are Ludacris and Kendrick Lamar. The county sheriff, Mike Scott, has a problem with these performers and he wrote an angry email to the president of FGCU to try and have them removed. The reasoning for this was not only safety issues, but also the fact that Ludacris and Kendrick Lamar use the “n-word” too much in their songs. The email read, “I am completely confused, and I asked Dr. Bradshaw, a black man, to please explain how Paula Deen uses the word 30 years ago and gets nationally excoriated and these people use the word every single day, every other word out their mouth, in every single song and we are going to welcome them to a county park with the endorsement of FGCU.” Let’s hope he doesn’t have any actual authority!! Do you think he has a point??

The N word has no use for the white man today – the only reason african americans still use it is to least forget the slavery days where millions of blacks were assumed as nigga’s. Now that the white man has no use for it, they deem it inappropriate for the African American to use it – which is so beyond a black persons control to freedom of speech. Today it’s a term of endearment used amongst other African Americans to least forget where they’ve come from – so have a coke, smile and…..
Term of endearment not just for black people exclusively either. It has become part of urban culture, and we have to remember: Florida’s very heavy on that. Whether dude likes it or not (can use the word or not), it’s a part of his local lexicon that can only be used by those who a part of that culture.
