Kevin Durant is one of the star players who sees the potential in the $24 billion dollar NBA TV deal. “That’s a lot of money,” Durant said on Tuesday. “That’s a lot of money. I don’t see how owners can say they losing money now.” Durant goes on to say that players might now be given more for their worth, thus eliminating salary caps and max contracts. The possibilities and potential now seem endless for players, especially key ones as Durant and James. Check out more on Durant’s reactions after the jump below !

Overall, Durant said he viewed the news as a positive. “That just shows how much our game has grown,” he said. “$24 billion TV deal, that’s unheard of. So the league is a great place and we want to continue to keep it that way.”

But he also sees it as a potential bargaining chip should there be another lockout after the 2016-17 season.

“It should be,” Durant said. “Everybody seen (the new deal). Last year, the fans didn’t really get to know exactly what was going on as far as revenue. But now that it’s out there, feels like we have a little bit of leverage, I guess, as players.”

And one of the key talking points could become the abolishment of the max contract. LeBron James has recently been rumored to be pushing for the eventual removal of a capped salary for players, with the idea that the league’s biggest superstars don’t make nearly what they’re worth.

Durant, who would clearly fit into that category, agrees.
