The Knicks season has been so disappointing so far with the team having one of the worst records in the league. In a recent interview, JR Smith had one of the most accurate terms to describe it. Hit the jump for details.

Via Slam Online:

Smith, who’s missed the past seven games with a small tear in the plantar fascia in his left foot, calls the season a “nightmare”.

JR says that New York still has a chance to make the Playoffs in the awful Eastern Conference.

Per the NY Post:

“It’s a nightmare,” Smith said after practice Tuesday. “We just got to wake up from it. […] I mean, to be 5-25, we had a lot of expectations coming in here so to be in the situation we’re in, it’s a nightmare for me anyway.”

When he does return, Smith expects to make an impact, and help right the sinking ship formerly known as the Knicks. […] “If I play I think I can make a big difference, just creating plays for other people as well as myself, bringing the energy that we hopefully need or miss and just being who I am,” he said.

“Yeah, absolutely, we’re still not far out of that last (Playoff) spot,” Smith said. “Out of the eight teams, we just got to turn that switch on. Whatever kind of switch it is, we got to turn it on. Can’t keep waiting. Unfortunately, it depends on how everybody else plays as well as us. We’re trying to turn this thing around, so we got to figure it out.”
