The family of the late singer Amy Winehouse is speaking out against the documentary about the life of their daughter, they say the film is “unbalanced” and “misleading.” The film is set to debut at the Cannes Film Festival in May. Get more details after the jump.

Yesterday (July 23rd) marks the third year anniversary of singer Amy Winehouse’s tragic death. Although the songbird struggled with substance abuse and many other inner demons, she was still a very talented star. To celebrate her life, fans from all over visited her memorial site and left a bunch of cigarettes, alcohol and drug paraphernalia at her old house in London. According to her mother Janis Winehouse, she’s completely chill with what fans are leaving at the site–regardless of the fact those are all things that contributed to her daughter’s death (alcohol poisoning.)
