For the first time ever, the MTV VMA’s will be in Brooklyn this year, so MTV wants to totally reinvent themselves this go ’round. The moonman, the award given to winners every year for the award show’s 30 year history, has undergone a complete makeover, courtesy of artist KAWS. Below, he discusses the process and how it came about. The 2013 VMA’s air live from the Barclays Center on Sunday, August 25th.
OH NO Brooklyn! Politician Trying To Shut Down Parties In New Legislation
Council member Jumaane Williams is trying to legislate partying in BK, which predictably pissed some Brooklyn residents off. Any party with 40 or more people will have to notify the police three days in advance that they’re having a party. It would also make house parties that charge at the door illegal. Really though? Give it up. There are so many other social issues that need attention. Check out the rest of what laws are being proposed after the jump.

There are few things that are as American as piling an enormous amount of hot dogs for honor at Nathan’s annual hot dog eating contest. This year’s winner, Joey Chestnut, who’s won this contest for the last seven years, set a new record by downing 69 hot dogs in ten minutes at the Coney Island contest.
